Reading practise - Japanese

susannekaiser   November 27th, 2013 7:29p.m.

Hi fellow (Japanese ) skritteres
I wondered if you had some suggestion for me where to find easy Japanese texts to read. I'd be looking for some short very easy texts ideally with little furigana in order to practise reading of kanji in a "natural setting". Do you have some suggestion of web pages? Or any other suggestions what you do outside of skritter to learn how to read?
Thanks!

I think reading simple monogatari is a good way to get some easier reading practice. You can find some here: http://hukumusume.com/douwa/

I recommend the manga ドラえもん for starting out to read Japanese. I suppose it's good for anyone who hasn't read it yet too. It's classic comics. I think anyone will greatly enjoy it like peanuts or Calvin and Hobbs in English. There isn't very much kanji and whatever kanji there is has furigana.
