Japanese lessons online?

susannekaiser   October 5th, 2013 9:57a.m.

Hi fellow Japanese learners,

I am studying Japanese currently with a private teacher (as I started and left it so often, that I needed to restart at 0 but obviously remembering a lot), however she is going for 2 months on holidays, and I would like to continue during this time. I've been searching for an alternative teacher in Madrid, but haven't found yet one that really convinces me. So I wondered if I should try taking online lessons. With a real teacher.
Does anyone have experience with online lessons? Any recommendations?
Thanks!

I used Italki.com for Chinese. They normally offer a trial lesson, but have a look at their profil first, from there you can get a feeling already.
If you are not satisfied, you can change the teacher at any point in time. I was quite satisfied.

I also use two different teachers on italki.com for Japanese in order to practice conversation two hours a week. I love it.

My personal favorite teachers are Kiyomi and Rinko:

I have been studying with the "Japanese online school" ( http://www.j-os.com/ ) for several years now, via Skype video sessions, and am very happy with their professionalism/reliability, friendliness and flexibility. They offer a free trial lesson, too, if you want to check them out as well.
