Tips: How to study characters on Android

<コ:ミ   October 27th, 2013 10:41a.m.

Anybody has tips on how to study Chinese character on Android?

Skritter people already made it very clear that they are not making "Skritter for Android", so it's pointless to wait for it.
My current method is to use Pleco (buying the flashcard addon is a must!) to track progress and good old pen&paper to write characters. And then use "quiz mode" if I happen not to have pen&paper around.

If you press the 字 button in Pleco, you can write on the screen in the flashcard test.

On Android it's actually a paintbrush icon, but yes - tap on that to get a simple sketchpad you can use to practice drawing characters.

I downloaded flashplayer for android and now use the normal version of skritter that you would also use on a computer.. it doesn't work completely perfect but it works good enough

I second Bananaking. You have to install flash, which can be a PITA, and I hear the newer versions of Android are even worse but Skritter does run on an Android. I use Opera Mobil Classic App to run Skritter and it seems to be the best of all the browsers out there. I've often considered switching to Pelco et.al. but never find the time to set it up properly.

Try the TrainChinese App. There is a free version that allows 10 new words a week and they are stored on the device so no net connection is required.
