Issue with words coming up too soon

There may be an issue with the review scheduling code that's making items come up too soon after you last saw them. I'm fuzzy on the details, but it's under investigation.

If your review queue is behaving weirdly, it might be because of this bug. We'll post more when we figure it out.

I had the same problem before the update. Words would come back after five second and be marked as 'seen one (or five or whatever) second ago' which is correct, but often also as 'new word' or seen 'two weeks' ago, which is not correct.

good luck with your debugging

We've got some testing to do, but it looks like we've found the cause of this -- a bug in App Engine. We'll be working around it, performance willing, in the next couple days.

Would this bug account for the number of items listed as due for review on the main page/practice page not matching up with the number of items shown as "Ready" when I sort the vocabulary list by "Next"? I feel like my review queue is behaving oddly, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. It seems perhaps like it is ignoring older words and just giving me more recent ones to review.

Thanks for all the help with my account.

Actually, this bug was affecting both the practice page and the vocabulary page, since they were using the same filter. I fixed the practice page first because that was more critical, and when you checked oneprana the vocabulary page was still using the bugged filter. It was fixed this morning, so the numbers should now look the same between the two pages. Looking through your vocabulary page, it looks like older items are being scheduled amongst the new ones okay. We do have some more improvements in mind though which hopefully will be implemented soon.
