I'm practicing 华东师范大学 and the character I often forget is 范 but sometimes Skritter won't let me erase the character in the middle of a word (the option is grayed out). Not sure what the graying out logic is as I think I'd always want the erase button to be available.

It stays grayed out even if I go to the next word and hit back.

don't think i've seen this bug, but I did teach for a semester at 华东大学‘s so called "2nd middle school" in pudong.

I've put it on my list; I'll try to fix it same time as I enable erasing completed tones.

Hobbes828, 大学 means University (or College) whereas 中学 is middle school. The short form for 华东师范大学 is 华东师大 or just 华师大. Why would a middle school have 大学 in it's name?

The full name of the middle school is 华东师范大学第二附属中学, it actually has a wikipedia entry, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No.2_Secondary_School_Attached_to_East_China_Normal_University

Because it is affiliated with the university. Also considered one of if not the best secondary school in Shanghai... or so they themselves told me :)

Aah, that makes sense now. I think I know the school, it's right beside the university if it's the one I'm thinking about. Like all 小学校 and 中学校 there's always a crowd of parents, grandparents and others outside it at around 3-4pm.
