Droid Problems

EdChien   December 25th, 2011 11:09p.m.

Ever since the latest Droid update (this past Wednesday, I think) Skritter has not been running properly for me. It simply shows the regular browser view and I'm unable to write characters in the input area.

Is anyone else having similar problems on their Droids? I'd love it if this could be fixed quickly. Getting a smartphone has made Skrittering 10x more convenient. Without it, I am much less likely to use the site.

I have a Samsung Captivate Glide, and the current OS is Android 2.3.6, Gingerbread.UCKL1. I'm assuming this past update was an update to the OS, but I'm not entirely sure.

Hey I have been using my Android HTC Nexus One for Skritter since September.
Though I've only used my laptop for the past month as my phone is being repaired (probably broke from too much skrittering:) so unsure if it still works..

When I get it back I will post a reply if it works on my droid or nope.

Good Luck

It seems that the issue has been resolved. I'm writing from my Droid now after getting some needed practice in.

Thanks guys!

The stable side of the site only changes on the 15th of every month, so I don't think it was us. Glad to hear it resolved itself though!

I just got a Droid phone for Christmas ... is there an Android app, or do you just use the Skritter web site in a browser?

There is no Android app, you just use the site normally. Let us know though if the site isn't working on your phone correctly; we can adjust for your specific kind of phone.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (running ICS) and a Kobo Vox (Gingerbread - 2.3.3?). Skritter doesn't really work on either ... it would appear that is the flash component that's causing the problems. On the Nexus the flash component tends to take over the screen, and can't (easily) be resized. The Kobo Vox is a little better, but not all of the page shows, and the header information seems to get out of sync with the questions being asked (or simply doesn't refresh). Certainly I wouldn't consider either usable, so I do all my practice on my desktop. Given Samsung's rapid growth, you may want to think about a dedicated Android app.
