when to mark as incorrect?

JB   March 8th, 2009 7:18p.m.

So I'm just wondering, when is the best time to mark as incorrect? If you miss a stroke somewhere, maybe the first stroke, or maybe somewhere in the middle, and then only remember it thanks to the clue, should you mark it as incorrect?

JB   March 8th, 2009 7:22p.m.

Hmm, I'm kind of retarded. Let me rephrase that. let's say you get a stroke incorrect like twice (so skritter doesn't automatically mark it as wrong. But you get it right on the third try. But the only reason is the process of elimination. So, at that point, should you mark it wrong.

Doh. Okay, thanks.

I'd like to mention that the number of wrong strokes Skritter currently accepts before marking the character wrong is a bit arbitrary. How do you guys feel about it? Is it too lenient, too strict, baby-bearish?

ximeng   March 9th, 2009 8:25p.m.

Probably about right actually, although maybe a bit lenient. If I only get it with help, I'm now marking it wrong anyway, so it would save me a click or two now and then if it was stricter.

The number of wrong stokes allowed right now is too low I feel. I occasionally get characters wrong that I know by heart, due to me not writing them properly. Although that may be a product of my input device.
