I am really interested in this topic. Dont know what you posted. Do you think HTML5 is giving Flash the boot?

Sorry, I wrote that ICS didn't like Flash (got a new ICS Gemei G9 recently) and wondered whether there would be an Android app in the works (as I'm having some trouble getting skritter to work). But then I found that flash does work on this tab, but it just doesn't register touches and doesn't default to the mobile version of the writing interface, whether I set the browser to android or not, tried just about every browser I can find. Works fine on my Android 2.3 Defy, so figure it's something to do with ICS. Plugged a mouse into the tab and found that long left pressing and then releasing somehow enables the writing, but then I have to click again to release. Pressing and holding with the finger doesn't have this effect, going fullscreen with the flash/writing area doesn't work either... I'm guessing there isn't going to be an Android app since a lot of effort is going into the iOS app...

russell359, by "whether I set the browser to android or not", do you mean that it still doesn't work when you go to this URL?

okay, now it works, though only practically in portrait as it defaults to fully zoomed and landscape doesn't zoom out properly, but it's a start. Thanks.

I'm still working on figuring out what went wrong with the Ice Cream Sandwich user agent detection, so at some point I'll get it going automatically again. The past three attempts this month have brought only partial improvement.

Its not quite as bad as it sounds. Adobe has announced that it will cease support of Flash for mobile devices. If you want to write Flash stuff for mobile devices, Adobe wants you to use Adobe Air.

Web sites also seem to be begining to use HTML5 video. For example, coursera.com uses HTML5 for their video lectures. Coursera is very interesting. They offer courses from major universities at no cost. I'm struggling through Natural Language Processing, but they offer a variety of subject areas.

flash may be on the way out, but look at how hard it's been attempting to kill IE6 :P
