erasing characters

I accidentally added a character that I don't want to learn right now, how would I go about erasing that from my list?

You can go to the list you added it from, click on it, and then hit "Ignore." Alternatively, you'll be able to ignore it from the practice page when we rebuilt the Ignore button there, but it's not ready yet.

ah, thanks.

by the way, when you ignore a character it seems you ignore both the simplified and the traditional, will this be changed in the future? the thing is that this character 準 is listed as the traditional variant of 准. but right now I'm only learning 准 with the meaning of "to allow" and in that case it's the same character in traditional.

Hmm, I'm going to have to rethink how ignoring works. Right now the best you could do is ignore studying the character for the simplified version but still study its tone from time to time, assuming you want to continue studying the tone for the traditional. Because of the way the system is set up different variants are intertwined. The tone is the same for the two characters so you either study the tone for both variants or neither.

Here's what I'll do. I'll replace the ignore button with a delete button. When you delete a word or character on the vocab list page it will appear as though you never added it and it won't come up to study. It won't actually delete your progress, so if you add it again, either manually or while going through a list, you'll have the same progress as before. And it will only affect one variant, rather than possibly two or more. I'll post back here once that's done.
