Customised Word List

Pangxiaodi   May 31st, 2013 8:30p.m.

Does anyone know how to delete unwanted automated definitions from a customised word list?

I'm trying to build up a world list for the Starbucks coffee menu, and if I want to write 美式咖啡 = Caffè Americano • I get an additional dumb and redundant definition of Caffe Americano = American Style Coffee.

I know this is pedantic, but I'm going to create an extensive Sichuan Menu Reader and want to use my own definitions.

Cheers

In your list, click on the word, click on the blue pencil beside the definition, then customize it.

Thanks Lechuan,

I tried that, but it wouldn't save the changes, I will give it another go.

Thanks Malaili,

I tried that, still not working, I delete the automated definition and then press return, it says 'processing' then, the automated definition is back again, if I delete it then press 'save changes' doesn't work either.

I guess I'll let it go :)

Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks again Malaili,

No, I think it's happening with 美式咖啡 because, somewhere, (not sure how it works) there is a definition of Caffe Americano; American Style Coffee.

I have tried many different ways to delete the American Style Coffee translation of Americano, but I can't delete it.

太麻烦!!!

I guess I just need to accept any pre-set translations.

If I want to add Iced Vanilla Latte or something there is no problem at all.

And I'm not leaving it blank :)

哈哈 〜 真的吗? 大概我是笨蛋 〜 I can't get it to work :(

Anyway, your help is really appreciated, I guess I'll try once more.

Success

I was trying to do it by clicking on the blue edit button, and then typing in new definition, and then return / save - but, it didn't work from there.

I had to click on List Changes, then Added Words, then a Blue Pencil thing - seems like a long way round - I'm sure there's an easier way.

Thanks for your help

Huh, I'm pretty confused as to why this entry was so fussy. Anyway, I've changed the default definition to simply "Caffè Americano" to make it less redundant.
