Do I have too many lists?

thinkbuddha   April 16th, 2009 5:54a.m.

I wonder if some of the odd behaviour I'm having on Skritter is to do with having too many lists. I've got about six of them: HSK1&2, Radicals, NPCR, Integrated Chinese 2 and Colloquial Chinese. I've had most on pause for three weeks, to see if I can get through my backlog, but I'm stuck at around 100 characters and however much I do on Skritter, this backlog is not diminishing (that is, it never goes down to zero, however much I do, stopping at around 100). Meanwhile, my lists are doing odd things. So, for example, the Colloquial Chinese list is marked as being on chapter 17 on the progress bar. If I unpause it, then skritter keeps transferring data, the progress bar goes all the way to the end of chapter 17 and then... it automatically goes back to pause, at the beginning of chapter 17 once again. This doesn't seem to make any sense. But I wonder if the problem with the backlog is related to this strange behaviour.

Best wishes,
Will

The chapter 17 is I think a known bug when you finish a list. I've finished HSK 1, but the progess bar is stuck at the beginning of the last section and it's paused. Unpausing it on the practice or vocbab list screens appears to work, but it reverts to paused soon afterwards.

I'm guessing the problem with the backlog is unrelated and is perhaps caused by the new "Genius" scheduling that's just come in.

Right, our code for displaying the ends of lists is broken, to be investigated soon. Ximeng has diagnosed it correctly.

I have all the lists added, and it seems to work okay (although I'm not sure there aren't bugs; I'm noticing that some of my lists aren't really adding like the others). But theoretically, you can have as many lists as you want.

OK, thanks for checking that out, Nick.
