Both Nick and I use this tablet because it is fairly cheap, accurate, and more ergonomic than a mouse. Even though I do a lot of Photoshop work, I did not need a more expensive tablet because unlike Scott, I rarely do illustrations.
For my purposes, the smaller, cheaper tablet was the better way to go, and I have to say that it has been a very good investment. Not only is it more natural to write on a tablet than with a mouse, it allows me to go much faster and build accurate muscle memory.
